Complete Prescription Service

We are delighted to offer a full prescription service for customers who want the least amount of hassle when having their Pro X sunglasses glazed, and at the best price possible - you'll also enjoy the fastest turnaround times. To order, please choose the option you require from the drop-down menu above and then fill in the fields that appear, with your prescription details. Before completing your order, please read the notes below to make sure your prescription is compatible with these sunglasses.

Is My Prescription Suitable?

Scratch Pro X prescription golf sunglasses can be used for any regular distance prescription where the SPH (Sphere) requirement is less or greater than 4.5. Due to the curvature of the tinted lenses, they will not be suitable for those with very strong prescription requirements that exceed 4.5.

Pro X Prescription sunglasses are also suitable for bi-focal, varifocal and prismatic lenses. If you need bifocal lenses, please fill in the 'Add' field when you submit your prescription. if you require varifocal or prismatic lenses, please buy the sunglasses only and ask your optician to complete the prescription for you.

Pupillary Distance (PD)

This is the distance, in millimetres, between the centres of the pupils of your eyes, when measured across the front of your glasses. A PD can range from 55 up to 70mm. Unfortunately, most UK opticians do not put the PD on a standard prescription card - if you do not know your PD, ask your optician to let you know what it is. If they do not know, or are unwilling to release the information, you can measure it simply yourself, by asking a friend to hold a ruler up against your glasses whilst you are wearing them. Try to be accurate, but note that, if you are 1 - 2mm out on your calculation, your glasses should still be fine.

Please note that, if your PD is greater than 69mm, these sunglasses will not be suitable for you.

The Frames

Our prescription sunglasses for golf are built around a matt-black finished frame that has a prescription Rx clip housed in the back, whilst the tinted, interchangeable lenses sit on the front. This two-part arrangement allows for great versatility and performance, whilst the stand-alone frame looks great too! The wrap-around styling blocks unwanted wind and light encroaching from the sides and bottom of your vision.

The frames are lightweight and tough, whilst the Rx clip, made from TR90, ensures maximum protection for your eyes from impact. The tinted lenses clip onto the top of the frames, allowing them to be flipped up for momentary 'normal' vision when required.

De-Centred and Anti-Scratch Coated Lenses

Wrap-around sunglasses offer great benefits when it comes to blocking unwanted light and wind from the sides of your vision, but placing a curved lens in front of your eyes would normally cause distortion. However, all Scratch lens sets are de-centred, which means they are calibrated to remove the distorting effect.

As with all Scratch golf sunglasses, the Pro X Prescription golf sunglasses come supplied as standard with the following:

  • Category 0 (yellow) lenses: perfect for use on cloudy, dull days or for those early morning starts / late finishes
  • Category 2 (beige, polarised) lenses. A good all-rounder, useful in partial sunshine and changeable conditions. The polarised filter greatly reduces glare, which is caused by the sun's rays bouncing off horizontal surfaces
  • Category 3 Polarised (green, mirror-coated). Perfect for sunny conditions, the green filter allows for greater definition between the course background / sky and ball. It will also help you judge the tee to flag distance
  • Sturdy carry case with belt clips and loops, a padded lining and internal compartments for spare lenses
  • Head retainer strap
  • Microfibre cleaning cloth

UV and Conformity

Rapid Eyewear sunglasses conform to ISO 12311 and 12312 standards for sunglasses and protective equipment testing. They offer 100% UVA / UVB (UV400) protection.

Turnaround Times

Turnaround times from date of order is typically 7 - 14 days.
